Fira Arrels del Vi a Sant Martí d’Empúries (L’Escala)

Arrels del Vi is the professional fair for high-end DO Empordà wines, aimed at the final consumer and professionals in the wine and gastronomic sectors. It is a unique opportunity to taste the best wines of the Empordà and buy real wine gems at the winery.

The name of the fair is related to the history of Sant Martí d’Empúries. The excavations carried out in this Scalan nucleus, where the first Greeks who came from Phocea settled and which since then has never ceased to be inhabited, certify that viticulture was introduced to the Iberian Peninsula through this point privileged of the Mediterranean. This is why the winemaking tradition in this area has roots of more than twenty-six centuries of history.
