We are a DO with history, rich landscapes, innovative wineries and people who love, above all, their land and wines. The development of viticulture in Conca de Barberà has been closely linked to the historical development of the region, and its earliest records date back to before Roman times. Its location makes it a privileged region for cultivating grapevines and producing excellent wines and sparkling wine.
The distinguishing element of the excellent wines from Conca de Barberà is found in its autochthonous black grape variety: trepat. This variety offers delicate, fruity, and fresh wines with spicy notes and a low alcohol content. Our wines are fit for any occasion; they convey our most authentic, singular feeling – We have our unique character.
A visit to Conca de Barberà is a taking a stroll through the history of viticulture, tasting the wines from our cellars, it is marvelling at its famous modernist cooperative wineries, that were once described as “Cathedrals of Wine” by Àngel Guimerà (poet, playwright and writer in Catalan, Nobel prize-nominee). It means getting lost in the grapevines and experiencing their unique vibe in the flesh. It is enjoying the impressive historical and cultural heritage of the region: the Monastery of Poblet, the Cistercian Route, the medieval town of Montblanc, the Museum of Rural Life…
